Modern football is shit. The owners are cunts. The stadium is shit.

What's that got to do with club vs country?

Re: club over country
I will remember all these uber fans next season when everyone starts moaning and groaning and saying modern football is shit, the owners are cunts, stadiums shit, etc. Cheezey fucking cunts. You only have to read the match threads.

Club over country all day long.

I’d take West Ham winning the hokey Kokey cup over England winning the Euro’s.

In the last World Cup when there were 4-5 Spurs players in the England side I just couldn’t enjoy the tournament.

I also don’t particularly like being linked to fat gobby northerners who are also supporting England.

However this England team is generally a lot more likeable than teams of the past, there is a togetherness and I think it’s lifted the nation a bit. Plus it’s just been a good football tournament, so I am really hopeful for a win Sunday and I did go through the emotions last night.

However my heart will always be West Ham.

I completely agree with most on here - I want England to win but I'm not bothered really.

When I watch West Ham I have this gut wrenching anxiety most of the time. If England lose then, meh.

I’d definitely take the FA cup over the Euros all day.

Re: club over country
Last night I felt almost zero nerves. Even at 1-0 now that tells me either I’m not to bothered or the meds are working. Compared to West Ham I’m kicking every ball.

Re: club over country
I will watch every West Ham game either live or on TV. Never seen an England game live and don't necessarily watch all the games on TV if it's a boring friendly or easy qualifier but am as passionate about both for them to win something!

Re: club over country
Club always before country, but seeing as I have been starved of any form of success for either, then I would be ecstatic at a win on Sunday. You have to take what you get in this world and be grateful for what comes your way. That won't stop me wanting West Ham to finally win a major trophy in my lifetime (I was too young to remember 1975 and 1980 FA Cup wins so they don't count). Knowing my luck, when we finally win something I'll be a dribbling mess (more so than now anyway) or a pile of ashes.

I'm more excited about the Europa league draw than I am about Sundays game.

I can't wait for it.

Plus we are playing Dundee this week so what could be bigger than that?

Re: club over country
There have been a few things that might sour the England watching experience and make the West Ham fan cynical and negative in the last 10 - 20 years.

1) Watching players that were part of our wasted generation get caps after they left us:

Ferdinand
Lampard
Cole
Johnson
Carrick
Defoe

2) Proudly sending key players off to play for our Country only to have them return long term injured (James) or permanently broken (Ashton) or mentally scarred (Green)

My interest in it waned as soon as Rice went off.

That's pathetic, I must say.

Every single West Ham game for me, just tournament or crucial tournament qualifiers for England. Don't care about Nations league or friendlies.

As for one or the other winning a trophy, I'm equally invested.

Re: club over country
There are a number of things that have dampened my passion.

The constant hype over the years only to be let down so often, so difficult to regain the passion
Players in the past who have come out and said they enjoy playing more for their club than their country. Bobby Moore used to say he got the same thrill every time he opened the letter from Lancaster Gate confirming that he would be playing for England.
I can't get that passion back so maybe its an age thing, my Grandson has that same passion that I had in 66 and whilst I am on the self analysis everytime I hear 'It's coming home' I feel like throwing something at the tele. Definitely more nervous and passionate with West Ham

come on you lionsssssssssss

I enjoy both. I apologise that I'm not one of the 'we're not worthy/we were lucky/I feel guilty' brigade of cunts that have to put a downer on the first final for 55 fucking years

Re: club over country
Simple. I was nervous last night and my heart was thumping, am still a bit emotional now. Was only one when England won the WC so for me and most others this is a new experience.
However when West Ham score I go crazy. The result will affect my mood for days and a relegation for months.
When England score I say GOAL or YES, when they lose I shrug my shoulders and can laugh it off ruefully.

Those that follow clubs year in year out along with the pain are the real fans, the sheep in England tops who normally couldn't give a shit about football but are now going completely mental are not football fans, they are bandwagon jumping England fans.

Be great to win it though.

I passionately support both England and West Ham equally.

I hope that's 'allowed'.

The OP is a wanker.
